On the river today, was a wonderful fresh water shower. After two races with next to no wind, the mother of all squalls came through, replete with thunder, lightning, big wind, and a 15 minute downpour the likes of which we rarely see around here. Thankfully we were all off the river by the time the big wind and downpour came. All races used whistle starts. Race Committee: Jeff Bartlett

The third and final race of the summer series saw winds that were light and shifty, as one would expect on Lake Sacajawea in the summer. That did not stop five Flying Scots and Bernie Newman with his C-Lark from enjoying a nice day of sailing. We got in four good races sailed on shortish courses; getting off the water by mid-afternoon.
After the boat were all cleaned up and put away, several hardy sailors made their way to the CBSC Yacht Club (Burbank Tavern) for some ice-cold refreshment and to swap a few stories.
The fall series starts on September 15th. Save the date and plan to join your CBSC friends for another round of sailing at Charbonneau Park.
