Columbia BasinSailing Club
Columbia Basin Sailing Club is located in the Tri Cities (Kennewick, Pasco, Richland)
and sails from Charbonneau Park on the lake Sacajawea behind Ice Harbor dam. CBSC has
hosted some of the most memorable events in the inland Pacific Northwest. Some of these
include the SJ 21 Western Nationals, the Sea Spray NA's, the Flying Scot Pacific Districts,
and the 3 Meter Worlds. The Desert Regatta, generally held in May each year, is one of the
largest multi-class regattas in the Pacific Northwest.
A wet sheet and a flowing sea,
A wind that follows fast,
And fills the white and rustling sail,
And bends the gallant mast.

to the club's own Brian Tyrrell and Ray Peters for taking 1st and 2nd place, respectively.
Full race results have been posted on the Regatta Network.
Photos from the event have been posted to the Photo Gallery.
Winds too strong on Saturday delayed the annual downriver race until Sunday, and winds too light
on Sunday delayed the arrival of all the boats, but a fair number of sailors got soaked somewhere
in the middle, including younger crew going overboard:
1st - Brian Tyrrell and Jeannie Silvers
2nd - Dave Gilles, Nancy Gilles and Dave Gilles
3rd - Jeff Bartlett, Marilyn and Hugh Bartlett
4th - Mark White, Signe White, Taryn White, Trevor White and Jenna White (overboard)
5th - Doug Queen, Kathy Queen, and Ellen Boswell
6th - Sarah Burton, Greg Kimmel, and Jonathan Boswell (DQ for paddling)
