Winds were steady SSW with a persistent 15-20 degree right shift between Race 2 and 3, 4 - 11 knot range. Three courses were sailed: 1) a triangle course (S-1P–3P-F), 2) a windward/leeward course (S-1P-F-1P-F), and 3) a double windward/leeward course (1,F,1,F w/gate). Ray and Roger had the most exciting Race of the day, Race 2, Roger rounded Mark 3 with Ray on his tail. Ray was trying to zigzag his way around Roger but Roger had his “cat like” reflexes full on and was able to hold off Ray to the finish. We were all packed up just before the rain came. The Burbank providee after race nourishment and entertainment. Sarah, “Welcome to the Flying Scot Fleet!” she was out there just figuring out the ropes, with the kids.

Six boats and extra crew raced on Saturday. Variable winds at 4 mph shifted from NNW to NW. Early morning temp was 40° F rising to the low 50s later in the day. The sky was overcast with light to moderate rain during the middle races. The lake level was high with ramps connecting floating docks nearly parallel to the water surface. Ray Peters won the first 2 races sailing to 1st place overall for the day. Finishing a strong 2nd was Brian Tyrrell who won the final 2 races. 1st and 2nd place for Fall Race #4 were separated by only 1 point. Courses were a combination of windward/leeward and triangular. Mark placement and retrieval by Brian Tyrrell and Roger McVicker. Due to weather conditions the planned End of the Season Cookout was relocated from Charbonneau Park to the patio area at The Burbank (Roadhouse Cafe) where outdoor grills and restaurant service were made available to the club. Thanks to all who participated and contributed, and to Ray Peters for his cooking skills once again.
